I welcome into online counselling individual adults and couples from all backgrounds, abilities, sexual orientations, and gender identities to help them gain insight and fresh perspectives on life, relationships, and other issues that can cause distress.
I enjoy working with clients over time to help them explore the challenging issues they face, and to support them as they consider options for the future. My work is based on many years of training and experience in diverse cultures, at home and abroad, exploring the ways that personal experience impacts who we become and how we live. Life stages, family issues, loss, mental or physical health, and more can all affect how we engage with living.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to its Ethical Framework and complaints procedure. I also bring experience as an accredited mediator committed to the principles of alternative dispute resolution, and draw on these skills along with specific family consultancy training to support couples who decide they have reached the end of their relationship.
My professional qualifications include a Diploma in Relationship Counselling awarded by Relationships Scotland / Napier University, combined with extensive and ongoing training in interpersonal and intrapersonal development.
My core approach is integrative, drawing primarily on psychodynamic, systemic, relationship and adult sexuality theories, with specific additional training in how to address these when working online.
I hold professional indemnity insurance with Oxygen Professional Liability Insurance, attend regular supervision and frequent continuing professional development.
