WHY COUNSELLING?
TIME AND SPACE Counselling is a place where you can bring difficult personal issues and explore them in a supported way. CONSENT All of this happens with your consent, and at your own pace, in a safe and comfortable setting. These are your sessions, to use in the way that will be most helpful to you. TALKING As a trained professional my role is to support you to gain deeper understanding and fresh perspectives as you move forward. INSIGHT Your own insights from this process can lead to change: change in yourself that can lead to changes in the way you live. |
WHO GOES?
Couples and individuals use counselling in a variety of ways to help deal with difficulties in life. Perhaps you might want to disentangle a current problem, make some sense of what has happened in your past, or improve the quality of your relationships. You might be coping with loss, transitioning to a different life stage or dealing with more immediate issues. The experience of being fully heard with depth, openness and absence of judgement as you explore what is important to you can be an important part of moving forward with your life. I work online with both individuals and couples on the issues that are important to them. |
WHAT TO EXPECT
CONFIDENTIALITY All contact between us is held under strict rules of confidentiality which we will talk about in the first session and revisit periodically. STARTING Initially we will meet to find out what you hope to gain from counselling and decide how best to work together. REFLECTING Once we commit to work together we will reflect on the work at suitable intervals to make sure that you are continuing to get what you want from counselling. ENDING When our work is complete, we take time to bring the process to a close, and then think about what it has meant for you. |
